STULZ, specialists in the design and manufacture of standardized, customizable modular and micro data center solutions has launched the STULZ Micro DC – a single rack, all in one micro data center solution. Featuring a standardized and modular design, with preconfigured options that are fully tested for assured performance, the STULZ Micro DC combines power protection and distribution, cooling, monitoring and management with fire protection and security.
"We are committed to providing data center technology that meets the exact needs of our customers," explained Dushy Goonawardhane, managing director at STULZ Modular. "Our new data center in a rack has been developed in full collaboration with our valued partners through the 'voice of the customer' meetings that we host throughout the world. Participants made it clear that they wanted a cost effective way of providing scalable and self-sufficient data center resources, so we have designed the STULZ Micro DC as an adaptable IT solution that meets their demands in every way."
With the ability to operate in both single rack and multi-rack configurations, the flexibility offered by the STULZ Micro DC means that end users are able to add extra IT resource as required. Further modules can be installed quickly and easily to upgrade critical infrastructure or expand additional computing power.
Designed and built for installations at the edge, the STULZ Micro DC is suitable for a wide range of applications including high performance computing (HPC), content delivery networks (CDN), telecoms network expansions and the internet of things (IoT). As industrial automation continues to develop, it can also play a key role in maximizing the potential of Industry 4.0 and the industrial internet of things (IIoT).
A variety of row cooled options are available for 4kW-20kW rack installations utilizing direct expansion, water and glycol-economizer cooling. This can be extended up to 100kW in a single rack using liquid cooling technology from STULZ Modular’s specialist partners, such as CoolIT, to ensure effective heat management in even the densest processor environments. Furthermore, a pre-designed and tested set of components including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDUs), fire suppression, access control and monitoring and management systems are able to be configured according to specific requirements.
